SPECIAL SERVICES
In addition to weekly individual therapy services, we also provide the following:
Early Intervention Services |
Early intervention is a play-based service offered to children with developmental delays and disabilities, 0-3 years of age, and their families. This service has been shown to significantly improve a child's ability to learn new skills and increase success in school and peer-based interactions.
We are currently in the process of becoming an early-intervention vendor for Alta Regional Center. |
IEP Summer/Break Continuation |
Individualized Education Plan ("IEP") is a plan or program developed to ensure that a child who has a disability identified under the law and is attending an elementary or secondary educational institution receives specialized instruction and related services. If your child has an IEP current goals, but does not qualify for extended school year services, a summer/break continuation program is available.
Through this program, our therapists focus on treatment of school-based goals to minimize any disruption to your child's progress. Should you wish to continue private services during the school year we will require additional testing and/or a goal report (prepared by this office). |
IEP Evaluation/Goals Review |
If your child has an IEP, you and the IEP team will meet at least once a year to make sure the IEP meets your child’s needs. The IEP needs to be revised as your child makes progress and faces new challenges, and as new instruction techniques and technology become available.
If you are concerned about your child's progress, or are unsure about the goals set, you can schedule a meeting to review the IEP with our staff. This service includes an informal assessment of your child, one-hour parent meeting to discuss your educational concerns, and review of pertinent documentation. We then advise you on your child's present level of performance and offer guidance through the IEP process to ensure your child is receiving the care he/she deserves. |
IEP Collaborative Advocacy |
If you think that your child may qualify for special education services, you need only to request an evaluation. You can do this by contacting you child’s teacher, the school psychologist or the school principal. A group of qualified personnel will decide whether to evaluate or not and create a plan for the evaluation. Any and all decisions regarding evaluation require the school district to inform and invite the parent to be a participant.
At Silver Linings, we have a unique understanding of the IEP process and know how daunting it can feel. We have been through the process; as parents, as an IEP team member, and as advocates. We will work collaboratively with you and the IEP team to ensure your child gets all the services necessary for success. We will then meet with you after the meeting, and prior to your signing of the IEP, to go over the report with you and answer any question you may have. |
Services Not Currently Offered
If you are looking for a specific service not currently being offered, feel free to contact us and discuss your needs. We may be able to develop a specific program just for you and/or your child. Even if we are unable to accommodate your request we may be able to refer you to someone that can.
